About Frontier Girls – Who Are We?

Raising Women of Honor to Be the Leaders of the Future.

Welcome to Frontier Girls, a community founded in 2007 by Kerry Cordy, providing a scout-like program for girls and adults of all ages. Rooted in Kerry’s passion for traditional scouting, homeschooling, and the belief that everything can be fun and educational, Frontier Girls has evolved from a small family venture into a thriving nationwide grassroots network.

Our diverse community spans nearly every state in the nation and includes even reaches across borders into several countries. Frontier Girls empowers girls to earn over 1,000 individual badges, fostering personal growth through community service, outdoor exploration, and the development of confidence and character essential for leadership.

What sets Frontier Girls apart is that it’s not an organization you join, it’s a curriculum you purchase through Curiosity Untamed. Troops operate autonomously through local nonprofits or individuals as part of their youth programming, offering unparalleled flexibility in troop management. Church-affiliated troops may incorporate specific doctrines into their youth ministries, while those associated with organizations like the VFW or American Legion focus on instilling patriotism and civic duty. While all Frontier Girls follow the same basic program, the troops themselves are all unique.

Program Goals:

LIFE SKILLS

Thousands of badges in nine Areas of Discovery, including the outdoors, encourage lifelong learning and allow girls to learn a multitude of life skills in any area that interests them.  Higher awards, such as our Life Skills Achievement award, take it to the next level, preparing girls for adult life out on their own.   Frontier Girls encourages girls to step out of their comfort zone and try something new, collecting skills and wisdom to become the architects of their own destiny.

SERVICE

Frontier Girls encourages every Frontier Girl to help better her community and the lives of the people around her.  Each troop is required to do a minimum of three service projects each year; one for the community, one for whoever hosts your troop meetings, and one ongoing project of the girls’ choice.  For example, your troop may choose to sing Christmas carols to the elderly (local community), weed the parking lot of the church that hosts your troop meetings, and ring bells for Salvation Army each year.

PATRIOTISM

Patriotism is defined as “devoted love, support, and defense of one’s country; national loyalty.”  It does not mean you have to agree with everything your government or your military does.  It simply means you love your country and want what is best for it.  Patriotism is neither red nor blue, neither left nor right.  Being Americans is what we all have in common so patriotism should unite and not divide us.    Girls who belong to military families wear a special “Patriot” insignia on their uniforms so others may show them the respect their family deserves for the sacrifices they make in ensuring the freedoms enjoyed by the rest of us.

Frontier Girls Motto

If you see a need, take the lead!

Frontier Girl Promise

I promise to love God

Be loyal to my country

and to love my neighbor as myself.

Frontier Girl Creed

As a Frontier Girl

I will be Loving, treating others as I would like to be treated.

I will be Joyful, finding the blessings in every situation.

I will be Peaceful, respecting others opinions and beliefs.

I will be Patient, persevering toward my goals despite obstacles.

I will be Kind, respectful to all and willing to help others at all times.

I will be Good, pure in all I do, think, and say.

I will be Faithful to my God and loyal to family, friends, and country.

I will be Gentle, taking special care of those weaker or less fortunate than I.

I will have Self Control, using my time, materials and talents wisely, and being accountable for my own actions.

Since its inception, Frontier Girls has expanded its impact through two additional programs, Quest Clubs and Curiosity Untamed. All three programs share the same badges and awards, providing families the flexibility to choose the program that best aligns with their values or combine all three for a well-rounded experience. Join us on this exciting journey of growth, exploration, and empowerment at Frontier Girls!
