PROGRAM OVERVIEW

PROGRAM GOALS

LIFE SKILLS

Thousands of badges in nine Areas of Discovery, including the outdoors, encourage lifelong learning and allow girls to learn a multitude of life skills in any area that interests them.  Higher awards, such as our Life Skills Achievement award, take it to the next level, preparing girls for adult life out on their own.   Frontier Girls encourages girls to step out of their comfort zone and try something new, collecting skills and wisdom to become the architects of their own destiny.

SERVICE

Frontier Girls encourages every Frontier Girl to help better her community and the lives of the people around her.  Each troop is required to do a minimum of three service projects each year; one for the community, one for whoever hosts your troop meetings, and one ongoing project of the girls’ choice.  For example, your troop may choose to sing Christmas carols to the elderly (local community), weed the parking lot of the church that hosts your troop meetings, and ring bells for Salvation Army each year.

PATRIOTISM

Patriotism is defined as “devoted love, support, and defense of one’s country; national loyalty.”  It does not mean you have to agree with everything your government or your military does.  It simply means you love your country and want what is best for it.  Patriotism is neither red nor blue, neither left nor right.  Being Americans is what we all have in common so patriotism should unite and not divide us.    Girls who belong to military families wear a special “Patriot” insignia on their uniforms so others may show them the respect their family deserves for the sacrifices they make in ensuring the freedoms enjoyed by the rest of us.

BADGES AND AWARDS

Frontier Girls offers thousands of badges in nine Areas of Discovery.  Each badge is offered to all six age levels with requirements spiraling back as the girls age to insure they did not miss anything while also adding new and more difficult requirements.  This format allows multi-age troops to all work together on the same badges.

AGE LEVELS

Frontier Girls are divided into six age levels from preschool through adult.  The program is designed specifically for multi-age troops so that all levels may participate in the same troop if desired.
