Penguins: Do three requirements including the two starred *

_____1.* What is a purse? Learn what a purse is used for.

_____2.* What sort of things might you keep in a purse? Make a small collection of items you might want/need to take with you.


Otters: Do four requirements including the two starred *

_____1.* Do Penguin requirements 1 & 2.

_____2.* Discover what kinds of material can be used to make purses and what colors/accessories you can choose. Draw a picture of the purse you would choose.


Dolphins: Do five requirements including the two starred *

_____1.* Do Otter requirements 1 & 2.

_____2.* What was the original use for a purse, and is it very different from how we use it today? Give some examples of the sorts of people who would use purses in the old days.


Butterflies: Do three requirements including the two starred *

_____1.* Do Dolphin requirements 1 & 2.

_____2.* Learn the history of purse design. How has the purse changed over the years?


Eagles: Do seven requirements including the two starred *

_____1.* Do Butterfly requirement 1 & 2.

_____2.* Learn about a famous purse designer. How are their purses special, and how expensive are they to purchase?


Owls: Do nine requirements including the two starred *

_____1.* Do Eagle requirements 1 & 2.

_____2.* Teach someone how to do a skill from this badge or teach some knowledge about this badge to someone. You can teach kids, your spouse, seniors, anyone, just as long as you are sharing your new found knowledge. If for some reason you cannot teach what you have learned to someone else, you may choose an additional 2 optional requirements instead.

Optional Requirements:

_____3. Make your own purse from felt, fabric, crochet, etc.

_____4. Decorate a plain purse or a homemade purse with markers, paints, sequins, charms, feathers, or any other craft supply.

_____5. Visit the purse department of a store and look at all the different purses for sale. What sizes/colors/styles are available? Consider what you would be carrying in your purse when thinking about size.

_____6. Give a small purse filled with items to a single mom, child, or someone with special needs.

_____7. Participate in a community service project that involves purses. Examples might include holding a purse drive to donate purses to a women's shelter, making purses to sell to raise money for a charity, etc.

_____8. Pick a past decade and make a poster discussing what purses looked like during that time period. Attach pictures or drawings to your poster and write a short description explaining purse history from that time.

_____9. Make a small bag or purse for your doll.

_____10. Learn about a career in purse design. Where would you work, and what kind of salary could you expect? What sort of experience/schooling is required?

_____11. Bring your favorite purse to a Frontier Girls meeting for show and tell.

_____12. Learn about expensive brands of purses. How much would a high quality brand cost, and on average how long might it last?

_____13. Learn the importance of keeping your purse with you at all times while in public and learn some safety tips to follow to avoid your purse getting stolen.
