Penguins:  Do 3 requirements including the three starred.

Otters:  Do 4 requirements including the three starred.

Dolphins:  Do 5 requirements including the three starred.

Butterflies:  Do 6 requirements including the three starred.

Eagles:  Do 7 requirements including the three starred.

Owls: Do 9 requirements including the three starred and teach someone how to do a skill from this badge or teach some knowledge about this badge to someone.   You can teach kids, your spouse, seniors, anyone, just as long as you are sharing your new found knowledge.   If for some reason you cannot teach what you have learned to someone else, you may choose an additional 2 optional requirements instead. This badge can be earned for the school you are currently enrolled in, your alma mater, or your child's school.


_____ 1.* Know the name of your school, your school mascot and colors.

_____ 2.*  Know the name(s) of your teacher(s) and know at least one each: principal/vp; custodians; nurses; specialty teachers(spec.ed, art, computers, resource, librarian,etc), bus driver;

_____ 3*.  If your school has a song or chant, learn it.  If not, choose an alternate optional requirement.

_____ 4.  Know where your school's: cafeteria, gym, library, bathrooms, offices are located so you can find them and help guests or new students find them.

_____ 5.  Help keep your classroom or playground clean. Make posters or flyers  to discourage littering.

_____ 6.  Participate in a service project to help your school: have a book drive to get books for the library, a fundraiser to buy new sports equipment, plant trees, pick up trash, rake leaves,  etc

_____ 7.  Think of at least 5 things that make your school special to you. (examples: your best friend goes to the same school, you have the best teacher ever, you got to help plant that tree in the front, your school produced the first place winner at the county spelling bee, or maybe your school offers classes that most other schools do not)

_____ 8.  Participate in a special ceremony or performance at your school: Vet's Day, music or theatre, etc.

_____ 9.  With permission from the necessary people, invite someone to your school. Show them around, introduce them to your teacher.

_____ 10.  Do something to promote school spirit;  help with Spirit Days, wear a school shirt to a public event, march with the band in a parade,etc

_____ 11.  Interview a staff member to find out why they like working at your school.

_____ 12.  Know what special awards your school has received.
