Otter: Do 4 requirements including the 2 starred
Dolphin: Do 5 requirements including the 2 starred
Butterfly: Do 6 requirements including the 2 starred
Eagle: Do 7 requirements including the 2 starred

Owls: Do 9 requirements including the 2 starred

 

_____*1. With permission from an adult, explore the Sea World website.  How many different parks do they have?  Pick one to learn more about.   Learn about what animals they have on exhibit and how they are cared for.  Watch one of their webcams if you have fast enough internet access.

_____*2. Make a timeline with events in Sea World Park 's History (3 for Penguins, 5 for Otters, 10 for Dolphins, 15 for Butterflies, 20 for Eagles, and 25 for Owls).

_____ 3. Earn the Marine Life Animal Badge.
_____4. Watch an Animal Show at Sea World.  Learn about how the animals are raised and cared for.

_____5. Ride a ride at Sea World Park and discuss the safety standards.

_____6. Learn what it takes to become a Sea World Animal Trainer.  Are there opportunities for youth to act as an intern or participate in classes that give them direct access to any of the animals?

_____7. Pick your favorite animal featured at the park and read a book about them.

_____8. Learn about Sea World's conservation activities. Make a conservation poster.
_____9. Visit an exhibit where you can touch an animal and describe what it feels like to someone.

_____10. Make a piece of artwork about your favorite animal featured at Sea World.

_____11. Compare marine mammals and fish, what are the different characteristics of each. Learn about one exhibit of each at Sea World.

_____12. Pick two animals featured at Sea World and make a skit or mini-book about them.

_____13. Write a short story from the perspective of one of the animals featured at the park.

_____14. Design a habitat for an animal at Sea World. How would it differ from the habitat at the park?

_____15. Make a food chain using at least 3 animals featured at Sea World.

_____16. Use the Sea World map to give directions to at three different exhibits or rides.

_____ 17.  Discuss the controversy all zoos and aquariums face regarding keeping animals in captivity.  Read at least one article for and one against this practice.  What are your thoughts?
